CH60

Services:  Branding Art direction

Client: CH60 Year: 2019

Channel 60 is a content production company based in Bangkok, Thailand. The client wanted their branding to recall the aesthetic of an old, quintessential American cable news broadcaster. The challenge was to create a fresh and relevant visual identity that had elements of the era without slipping into a sense of nostalgia.

We experimented with Op-art to find inspiration and influence from modern American logos. Playing with the boldness of the strokes and utilising negative spaces, we developed a dynamic and striking language that can be applied in versatile ways throughout the branding, hiding the obvious and exposing the hidden.

To match the logo’s look, we decided to feature fonts as a powerful part of the brand identity. We used a heavy, condensed typeface for the big titles and a more rounded font for the body, bringing simplicity to the forefront. The result is a bold and honest representation of the company and the content they produce.
